FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are some of the questions we get asked often. Still wondering about something? Send us a message!
-
What ages do you teach? All Masters accepts students as young as 5 years old, with no upper age limit. For Sanda Kickboxing, students must be at least 14 years of age.
-
How is Kung Fu different from other karate, taekwondo, or martial arts?Kung Fu is one of the oldest martial arts and originally began in China. Many other martial arts have been influenced by Kung Fu’s techniques and philosophy. There are hundreds of different styles of Kung Fu that exist today, each with their own unique movements and techniques.
-
What is the best martial art program for me to take? There is no one best martial arts program! Each style has its own strengths and weaknesses. Choosing the style that’s right for you depends on what your goals are. With four different styles being taught under one roof, we have something for everyone!
-
What if I'm interested in more than one program? We encourage students who are interested in more than one program to explore all that All Masters has to offer! Memberships in secondary programs are offered at discounted rates.
-
Could martial arts influence my child to be too aggressive?Martial arts is meant to teach discipline and respect. We encourage our students to use martial arts to learn to believe in themselves, and to work cooperatively with others. All Masters is a strong advocate for martial morality; as such, it is against our school rules to engage in aggressive behaviour, both in and outside the school.
-
How often am I required to attend class? You can attend classes 1-3 times per week, depending on your schedule and availability. As students improve and sign up for belt gradings, we encourage them to attend classes 2-3 times per week.
-
How much does the membership cost? All Masters offers competitively priced memberships. Your rate depends on how many programs you take, how many classes a week you attend, and how long a period you choose to pay for. For more information on memberships, contact us directly!
-
Do I need to prepare myself physically before joining a class? Not at all! Regardless of your level of fitness, your instructor will make sure to work with you to achieve your goals.
-
Can I watch a class before joining?Absolutely! We encourage anyone that is interested in joining to book a class visit.
-
What can I expect in my first class? On your first day, make sure you bring a bottle of water and a pair of indoor shoes. Grandmaster Ngu will guide you through the school rules and introduction, and you will begin learning your first fundamental kung fu techniques right away. Not all programs will be run the same way, so contact us for more information about the program you’re interested in. Whether you are new to fitness or an experienced martial artist, you can expect a great workout during your first class!
