Shaolin White Crane Kung Fu

Training in Shaolin White Crane combines many different aspects of self-defence, including, but not limited to: hand and foot techniques, chin-na (to seize and control), evasion, strength training, body conditioning and developing strong footwork. Like many Chinese martial arts, Shaolin White Crane makes equal use of both the soft (yin) and the hard (yang); evading and counterattacking, withdrawing and advancing, a practitioner will often find themselves blocking and striking simultaneously. These skills are developed and refined through the practice of the many forms, two person set fighting, touch sparring and free sparring.

In all Shaolin White Crane Kung Fu incorporates many different characteristics, soft and hard power, internal and external training, empty hand and weapons training, all based around firm stances and quick, evasive footwork. In time, students of Shaolin White Crane proceed to train in the use of traditional Shaolin weapons, including staff, double sticks, iron rods, broad sword, straight sword, double dagger, spear and numerous other long and short weapons. Advanced students will even train in two person set fighting with weapons and not be limited to just practicing forms.
